Iran is ready to restart atomic talks with Washington provided that it is handled with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has declared.

Abbas Araghchi said solely negotiations was effective, and revealed fresh requests had originated from mediators to restart talks with the Trump administration. He claimed Iran had zero unreported enrichment locations, and Iran could not yet permit the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect struck enrichment centers for protective measures.

Walking a Complex Route

Araghchi is treading a complex course since Iran wishes not to be seen to be operating from a situation of weakness, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had emerged more resilient defensively and emotionally from the joint assault on its nuclear sites in June.

He was talking at a defense forum in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel domestically that it will always maintain" – the primary cause of the stalemate in the prior discussions.

Prior Negotiations Suddenly Concluded

The prior phases of discussions between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and bitter conclusion on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, struck Iranian nuclear sites in a 12-day war that culminated with Donald Trump declaring the facilities had been obliterated. Following this, EU nations used their privilege to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran insists they have not had a substantial consequence.

Ideal Resolution Proposed

Iranian officials said they felt they had attained a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in previous talks, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could process nuclear material. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be certain that Iran's enrichment initiative was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been settled in the talks that American atomic experts could operate on Iranian soil, but that was a natural consequence of the consortium proposal. In his remarks to the conference, aimed to paint the US as a hegemonic power that abuses the idea of worldwide standards, the foreign minister declared the 12-day war revealed the clash could not be resolved by armed force. He asserted the assaults began with a US demand for an unconditional Iranian surrender and culminated with an complete request for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is certain the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were carried out with total Washington understanding and coordination, making faith challenging to rebuild.

Diplomacy Continues the Ultimate Resolution

Araghchi declared: "It was not Iran that had fled diplomacy; it was the United States and the western countries that had consistently sought to impose their demands during the negotiations. In what is described by Iran's diplomats as the battle of restoration and rebuilding, the foreign minister stated he was assured Iran's security strengths "are considerably enhanced than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been restored. We gained numerous insights from this engagement; we have identified our internal vulnerabilities and the shortcomings of the adversary."

He continued: "We effectively endured this war. Our atomic expertise, which they aimed to eliminate, remains in place. The facilities and equipment, if eliminated, will be restored; what is essential is the determination of the citizens of Tehran and then the unity of the country that they sought to undermine, but were unable to destroy. The nation of Iran have developed stronger, more integrated, and more supportive of the government and the state in the face of this assault."
