It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed I've had no rhythm completely," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from there the batsman was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was removed her side required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she later said she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
